Story
Delia Balmer, an agency nurse, met Sweeney, who confessed to murdering his ex-girlfriend. Balmer rebuilt her life only to confront Sweeney seven years later after he was arrested for another murder.

The bodies were dumped in canals in Rotterdam (not Amsterdam) and London. This excellent drama is based on the true, horrific story of Delia Balmer.
Instead, we have Delia, who, to be honest, is not a particularly likeable lady
Unlike many of these true-life dramas, there is no sugarcoating of events or characters, nor is there a dynamic hero to help. She can be abrasive, rude, quick to anger, and abusive – and that’s even before she meets John Sweeney.
She was simply WOW
However, Delia’s ordeal is so incredibly tragic that I was moved to tears several times and felt anger and disgust at the attitude of the police and the justice system. Anna Maxwell Martin deserves awards for her outstanding performance.
This show is not for the faint of heart, but it is worth watching
I sincerely hope that the police and the justice system have learned their lesson and that the victims are not treated like liars and criminals.
